Jason Edwards

Teacher

Jason Edwards is a native of Danville, Virginia. He has been playing the drums for the last 25 years. Jason began teaching drum set technique, fundamentals and performance to drummers of all ages at professional FIVE STAR dealer Zampino’s Drum Shop in 1991.


In 1996 Jason began to research and develop the ultimake practice tools for drummers. This quest led to the beginning of Jason’s company ProLogix Percussion® in 2001. Since then he has created and patented a series of signature practice pad designs and accessories for international artists such as Russ Miller, John Riley, Johnny Rabb, Dave Ellis and Steve Fidyk.His practice products have recently been featured in Modern Drummer with his first article published in the Feb. 08' issues titled "Basic Brush Maps Tools to Improve Your Brush Playing".


Jason has been performing at regional events and other top venues with American roots three piece The Mike Lenz Band, the groovin’ eclectic three piece Vibrogroove, the boogie blues four piece Highway-61, The Mostly Blues Band, and the island sounds of The Calypso Gypsies. While in his travels, he has performed with such legends as Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Robert Lockwood Jr., and WAR.


Jason’s recording credits feature The Mike Lenz Band (member 1998’-Current), The Mostly Blues Band (member 1999’-Current), The Wanda Hunt Band (member 1996-2005), The Patrick Sweany Band (member 1997-1999), The Barnburners (member 1999-2001), The Bend’s (2002), and The Rubber City All Stars (2005)


Through the years, Jason has studied with legendary educators such as Jim Chapin, Gary Chaffee, Steve Houghton and Ed Soph. He was also a former student of Zampino’s during his earlier years.


Jason continues to share his vision and inspiration through private lessons, workshops and ProLogix innovative product designs.
